Volunteer work sessions take place once a month, from 9am to 12.00. All are welcome to join us to help with jobs ranging from weeding to pond maintenance, woodland conservation, and construction tasks. Tools, gloves and training provided. No need to book, just turn up.

Regular work days have been taking place on site since July 2005. Tasks performed previously have included:

• Planting up the ornamental areas of the garden
• Laying turf
• Planting trees
• Cladding the main water tank
• Building a sleeper wall to edge an ornamental flowerbed
• Marking out the growing plots
• Constructing the greenhouse
• Clearing years of accumulated rubbish and rubble out of the woodland area
• Planting bluebells in the woodland
• Clearing and shredding overgrown vegetation
• Building wooden compost bins
• Lifting brick paths for storage and reuse
• Painting the perimeter fences with anti-climb paint
• Planting prickly hedges along the site perimeter
